Mia's & Pia's Brewhouse Takes Home Big Wins at Spring Beerfest in Portland, OR
April 28th and 29th, 2000 ... What a reward for the effort put into brewing Mia's & Pia's premium brews! Just this last weekend, we attended and served at the 6th annual Spring Beerfest in Portland, Oregon. All entrants were asked to provide two choices of their favorite brews to offer to the public at this annual event. We chose to bring our Irrigator Dopplebock and our Klamath Basin IPA. We had the truck there on site and kegs a flowin' through the side wall of the truck. We had huge response! Our efforts paid off. Out of over 100 beers offered at the event, Mia's & Pia's came home with the following wins:

Klamath Falls First Microbrewery

January 31, 1997 ... The conversion of a former dairy barn has become a nice addition to a Klamath Falls restaurant. The owners of Mia & Pia's Pizzeria & Brewhouse are utilizing their farm ingenuity, and old farm equipment, to capitalize on one of the Northwest's hottest businesses... micro-brewed beer. Don and Nancy Kucera, and son Rod, have refurbished the family dairy barn into a brewery, featuring a 5 barrel brewing system that can produce 10 kegs of beer every ten days. Currently, the beer is exclusively available at Mia & Pia's, a family pizza parlor in Klamath Falls south suburban area, and can also be sold for off- premise consumption. Three styles of micro-brew are currently available, and the Kucera's plan is to introduce more seasonal varieties throughout the year.
